Where does flip-flopping get you?
For Slanteye anyways it gets you out of snow like this......

Well I guess I failed, the internet isn't fast enough to upload any damn pictures lol. Slanteye's phone should be blown up with pictures anyways lol. It's been snowing since we got here (ten mile inn) and we've probably got a foot of snow here at the lodge since arrival. I'd guess 3' fresh snow up top, may be the deepest powder that I've ever ridden in. Stucks are plentyful, air is not lol. We are told its going to stop snowing tonight so it should be clear tomorrow, but we were told that yesterday too and its still snowing. Not bitching but flat light and hard snow with cold is a bitch riding and keeping goggles clear. Mitch and I are representing SN here in the Snowies since Slanteyes pussy got wet and wouldn't come with us.

Ok, it works 1 at a time. Slanteye...:pointlaugh:

I really didn't stop to take too many pictures, these are about it lol....
My helmet cam is broken so there is no helmet cam footage damnit, will be ordering parts for it when I get home. Enjoy.......

Rubi 12-28-2012 10:57 PM

Bah, looks like that snow sucks. Glad I'm home here watching Tosh.O. Much more practical and smart to stay home and never snowmobile.

Wait, sitting on the couch all the time actually sucks! That snow looks awesome. Wish I was there. Too many negative variables to make this trip work for the Douglas County posse, but I wish we'd gotten our shit together sooner.

Dirty_Harry 12-29-2012 09:30 AM

HAHAHA. Good man.

The Gerbil 12-29-2012 09:56 AM

I wish mostly I would have gotten my shit together sooner and DCUBA would be there too. Snow looks sweet!

CWPottenger 12-29-2012 03:19 PM

Lucky bastards! Looks great!

All I have for helmet cam footage is Mitch's, I will try to get some up today. Overall we had a freaking blast!! Snowed from the time we arrived on Wednesday until Friday night. Riding was rough on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday due to the snow and it was cold as hell on the mountain. Saturday was blue bird skies and epic deep snow. Was definately the deepest powder I've ever ridden in, I can't believe I'm saying it but it was difficult to get around lol. That was the first time I've ever felt my machine was under-powered or insufficient. The day provided some interesting stucks and some nice untouched fresh areas that will be bookmarked for future reference. Overall we had one hell of a short trip and left me wanting more lol. I'll find some pictures and video to put up shortly.:woot:

Man, I wish I would have went. I didn't think conditions would be that good based on the what the Snotels were saying. I won't lie and say I wasn't a bit hesitant to go before I had a shakedown run on my newly rebuilt diamond drive. Oh well, you can't win all of them.

Rubi 01-01-2013 01:23 PM

Who rebuilt it? If they knew what they were doing, you should have just let'er rip!

cuzzinolaf 01-01-2013 02:39 PM

I had a friend who did it multiple times help me just to make sure I didn't F it up. It ran fine in the UP and we had decent snow given the conditions everywhere.

Gotmud 01-01-2013 02:53 PM

You rode in the Yoop this weekend? Was there more than a foot?

Gotmud 01-01-2013 03:47 PM

I sure hope you guys did some snow dances while up there. Something has to change soon damnit.:bitchdrama:

Rubi 01-01-2013 03:58 PM

Me and Mud are talking about the future. Something has to change before the group ride. I don't think we want to change the location to Marquette.

A lot can change in a month.

Rubi 01-01-2013 05:02 PM

Yeah, I'm not worried yet, but I'm starting to think about getting worried. There's about a foot at Krupps so it won't take much snow to be better than last year. I was thinking about getting a new track to replace the one I tore up at the group ride last year. Now I'm starting to think I'll just tear the rest of the lugs off the old one first unless it starts really dumping up there.

Gotmud 01-01-2013 05:36 PM

I'm sure we'll be fine, its a month away still. The forcast doesn't sound promising and the webcams look pathetic. But there is a base now, all we need is a kick ass LES and we're in the money!:woohoo:

ilinisnwchasr 01-02-2013 07:04 PM

Awesome pics!!!
wish I could have gone, but my sled is still sitting in the UP and I already had plans that I could not have gotten out of. I'm heading up Friday night. Will probably only ride up the hill to show the wife the lookout. Need to take the sled to the shop to get some work done. Plan is to go up on 19th the ride if anyone is interested.

Gotmud 01-02-2013 08:55 PM

The wife? What have we missed lol?
