Finally had icey/snowy/slushy conditions to test these things in.

Traction: Fuck yes!
After installation, there was an immediate improvement in steering performance. The softer compound makes the bitchmobile corner like one of those gocarts that hit 70+ mph in dry pavement conditions. Pretty hard to make it slide.
Having recent snow, slop, and glare ice conditions, I am still fucking impressed. There is not only tread on the surface that touches the road, but a fair amount on the sidewalls as well. While it appears as if someone has shrunk down a set of ultra aggressive offroading truck tires and stuck them on my not-meant-but-sorta-fun-for-offroading ride, they don't look at all stupid. In fact, they make my lame car look pretty badass.
Despite having no anti-lock brake system installed, I can manuver and stop on glare ice with a bunch of confidence. In a glare ice stopping contest, I actually had very compareable results (within a 10 feet) to another vehicle with all but new tires (non winterforce) that had anti lock breaks installed.
Driving through snow isn't a big deal. In up to roughly 6-7 inches of heavy wet snow, I was rarely spinning the tires (unless I punched the accelerator in CYI fashion as I am often inclined to do).
It also took twice as much speed to hydroplane on slush in comparison to last year.
Fun factor: Mixed
Having these tires has decreased the fun factor of winter driving slightly. I just can't slide the back end around using the parking brake. I can force it to swing out a little, but the results are quite disappointing in comparison to last year's fun. Rockford's require ultra icey conditions and a hell of a lot of accelerator pedalage.
However, raging through slush and snowy country driveways, not to mention icey intown streets somewhat makes up for this. Reverse to Forward 180s are now quite manageable provided I don't forget to shift at the correct time.

Those are snow tires. Useful for those driving in snowy/shitty conditions, as sledders often face whilst hauling sleds or going to work (lame and lame). Pertinent info.
10 years ago, my friend put on a set of goodyears on his full size conversion van, loved them.
He would tow a 4 place enclosed trailer, drive it down on to a lake up north for the races, and drive right back out, never had problems, really surprised me.
But they dont last very long, I would throw a different set of rims and tires on for the summer.

The winterforce tires are good. They're actually not that bad of mileage tire, but are a little louder than others. We stuck a pair of these on my sister's grand prix and i put blizzak's on my regal when I had it during college and the winterforce were as good as the blizzaks and I think around half the cost. We actually studded a set and put on the PT cruiser, it was like driving it on rails, if there was shitty weather I was always nominated to drive the grocery getter because we knew it would get there with those tires on.
